Joe has been in the insurance industry for almost 20 years. Working as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) for most of that time, Joe has excelled in the industry by continuously expanding his knowledge and even acquiring additional professional designations including ChFC, CLU, REBC, and RHU.
As a lifetime resident of Ohio, Joe and his family have been very involved in the community through a number of organizations and associations such as the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Columbus and Dublin Chambers of Commerce, the Union County Chamber of Commerce, their church, and various charities throughout Central Ohio.
Joe has been acknowledged as one of the top professionals in his industry with numerous awards and accolades, as well as a top young business professional from local organizations and associations like Business First’s Forty Under 40.
Matt Dowds

Matt has been in the insurance industry his entire career. After graduating from Ohio State in 1987 he was a Life Insurance Underwriter with Nationwide Insurance until 1990, when he moved to John Alden Insurance as a Group Life and Health Insurance Underwriter and then Underwriting and Customer Service Manager. In 1995 he decided that he desired the face to face customer relationship the most, and he decided to leave the corporate side of insurance to become an agent. He enjoyed 17 great years with Sentry Insurance as an agent, with his office based out of his home and with assistance from Sentry’s home office. In 2012 Sentry decided to leave the personal lines business. Through this change Sentry was very gracious to Matt and assisted him to set up as an independent agent, and also worked with him to communicate with his customers to follow him as he found for them the right fit with the right company before their policies cancelled with Sentry. Matt decided to join Joe at Crotty and Associates in September, 2013. He is grateful for the all opportunities he has now to meet every need for his customers…for business, life, long-term care, auto, home, and liability insurance!
